Wake and Skurf 07/11/09

Good times as always.
The intracoastal was narrow at 8:00am with a low incoming tide. Four hours later the seven of us were back on land just ahead of a thunderstorm and on our way to Angies for lunch. I know the young guns had a great time and even the old farts (me and maybe Father Franz) had fun as well.
The pics are grouped by riders. The Abercrombie ad campaign was Kirsten's brain child — I just needed to offer some creative direction with the ad layouts.

Riding an Intracoastal Wave

Sunday morning while skurfing and wakeboarding on the intracoastal we chased down a large vessel pushing out a massive wake (wave). For just a short moment I was surfing (without being pulled by Biscuit)in the middle of the intracoastal. More video from Sunday to come. Taylor and James are starting to pull jumps that are getting close to clearing the wake. We had a great time.

There is plenty more video from today but these two jump attempts were part of the highlights. Some still photos follow.

Dolphin Encounter on the ICW

Spring and Summer usually mean I’m out once a week with Ski Biscuit (my boat) on the Intracoastal Waterway.
I tell everyone that the Intracoastal is one of Northeast Florida's best kept secrets.
It’s an extraordinary place to get connected with nature, animal wildlife and yourself.
For the last seven years I have snuck away with family and friends to enjoy the early morning calm and late afternoon sun of this beautiful southward water path.
Most of our time is spent on selfish recreation but there is always time for slowing down and cherishing what makes this place is so special.

Aren’t we fortunate.
